t is a strongly held belief that parent involvement in their childrens education is beneficial, and parent involvement programs may be found in schools of every type throughout the country. The authors, in association with the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE), analyzed data from two large, urban California school districts to determine whether parent involvement in the PIQE program led to changes in student grades or behaviors. Surprisingly, the authors found no significant changes in student outcomes.
